Entry 35: AFK – Away From Koalas or Away From Kitchen

Hello folks,

Things are starting to look up for me again. I’m generally feeling calmer than I have done for a long time and I’m finally back at work after several months off. I started my new job a couple of weeks ago and had to travel down to Bournemouth on my birthday, which kind of sucked. I’m working at the hospital as an audiologist and currently staying in the accommodation there. Compared to some of the festering holes I’ve to stay in while working as a locum, my current one is not too bad. The kitchen, however, is very much less than ideal. I also have to travel light when I go to these places, so my shiny collection of kitchen toys is staying at my parents. The Koala(s) are also staying with them (and I apologise to Mum and Dad in advance for when they inevitably destroy the upstairs bedroom), so its going to be a while before I can do any baking again. I do have some time off over Christmas – about a week or so – and that will give me ample time to whip up something. =)

Just before I went down on the train to start my new job, I got a very pleasant surprise:

Aww, thanks guys! You didn’t have to go to all the trouble of baking something just for me. ❤

"We didn't."

“We didn’t.”

I’m going to be back at my parents around the 5th December. Even if I don’t manage to get anything baked, I’ll keep you all posted about how things are going. By which time, I fully expect koalas to have taken over the world.

  1. Glad to hear things are looking up, but I’m sad we won’t have koalas for a while. Hope you’re having fun at your new job!
